About me
I am a former primary school teacher and I made the difficult decision to transition into a new career that would use my people skills in different ways. I have always enjoyed helping others. As such, delivering massage treatments to people has proved to be hugely rewarding. To allow people time to relax, focus on themselves and also to help them with physical pain and stress has been a privilege. There is nothing better than working with someone and knowing that you have helped them to feel better physically, mentally and emotionally.
My whole ethos is to provide a relaxing and accessible service to the people of Medway and the surrounding areas, including Maidstone, Gravesend, Sittingbourne and beyond. I work from a treatment room in my home, but I am fully mobile too, so can deliver treatments in your home.

PRE AND POST MASSAGE
Before a massage
Preparing for massage therapy can enhance your overall experience and ensure you get the most benefits from the therapy. Here's a list of ways to prepare for a massage:
-
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water throughout the day leading up to your massage. Hydrated muscles and tissues are more responsive to massage.
-
Avoid Heavy Meals: Don't eat a heavy meal immediately before your massage. A light snack is okay if you're hungry, but avoid anything that might cause discomfort or indigestion.
-
Shower or Bathe: Where possible, have a shower or bath before your massage to ensure you're clean and refreshed. This also makes the experience more pleasant for both you and the therapist.
-
Dress Comfortably: Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment. You'll likely be asked to undress partially or completely, depending on the type of massage.
-
Communicate with Your Therapist: Discuss any specific areas of concern or discomfort with your therapist before the session begins. Communication is essential for a tailored and effective massage.
-
Remove Jewellery and Accessories: Take off any jewellery, watches, or accessories before the massage to ensure they don't interfere with the therapist's work.
-
Use the Restroom: Visit the restroom before your massage session to minimise interruptions during your treatment.
After a massage
After a massage, it's essential to take some time for self-care to maximise the benefits and ensure a smooth transition back to your regular activities. Here's a list of things to do after a holistic massage:
-
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and rehydrate your body. Massage can release toxins from your muscles, and staying hydrated aids in their elimination.
-
Rest and Relax: Give yourself some time to rest and relax. Avoid immediately jumping into a busy schedule or strenuous activities. Allow your body to absorb the benefits of the massage.
-
Avoid Heavy Meals: Refrain from eating heavy or large meals immediately after your massage. Opt for a light, balanced snack if you're hungry.
-
Take a Warm Bath: If you have access to a bathtub, consider taking a warm bath with Epsom salts to further relax your muscles and promote circulation.
-
Stretch: Gently stretch your muscles to help maintain the flexibility and range of motion gained during the massage. Focus on any specific areas that your therapist addressed.
-
Meditate or Deep Breathing: Spend a few minutes in meditation or deep breathing exercises to help you stay relaxed and centered.
-
Avoid Caffeine and Alcohol: Skip caffeine and alcohol for a few hours after your massage, as these substances can dehydrate you and counteract the relaxing effects of the massage.
-
Wear Comfortable Clothing: Put on loose, comfortable clothing to allow your body to continue to relax without any restrictive clothing.
-
Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how your body feels after the massage. If you experience any soreness or discomfort, inform your therapist during your next session.

Other contra-indications
There are many times that a massage may be very helpful in relieving symptoms of conditions that you have. However, there are many that may require you to get permission from your GP. It is important to ensure that massage is conducted in a safe way that will ensure you have the best experience possible.
During our consultation, I will always be open and honest with you and if I feel that you would benefit from a discussion with your GP before we go ahead with treatment, I will tell you.
Sometimes, you will be able to give enough information that we can make appropriate adjustments and you will be able to sign to say you are still happy to go ahead.
Safety will always be paramount so that we can ensure you have the most relaxing and beneficial treatment possible.
“Michael is fab! He is kind, considerate and knowledgeable. He listens attentively and makes sure he fully understands any medical issues you have prior to any treatment. I’m now visiting him monthly to keep my body in tip top condition since increasing exercise. I 100% recommend his service."
"Honestly the best massage I have ever had!
Michael was so warm and welcoming and I felt instantly calm in his company. He takes pride in what he does and really takes his time to understand your needs and how he can help. I had an extremely tight and painful shoulder and just after one day it had improved so much! I will definitely be coming back and would strongly recommend if you want an incredible experience!"
“Best Massage I've ever had! I often feel uncomfortable going for a massage, especially trying someone knew. Since my first session I felt comfortable and relaxed, and every session is tailored to what I need with no strict routines. So professional even when Im having a session in my home! Would 100% recommend!”
